This week, we are proud to highlight the outstanding accomplishments of our 7th and 8th grade students, who represented St. Ann Classical Academy with excellence at the Immaculata STREAM Fair this spring.

Guided by their teacher, Mr. Cirillo, these students spent weeks designing, building, and perfecting a working trebuchet—a medieval siege engine that brought history and physics to life. Their project stood out not only for its craftsmanship and function, but for the thoughtfulness, creativity, and perseverance they demonstrated at every stage—from early sketches to test runs to the final public showcase.

This type of hands-on, integrated learning is a hallmark of classical liberal arts education. By weaving together mathematics, science, history, and the arts, students developed not just technical skills, but also the habits of critical thinking, teamwork, and intellectual curiosity. They didn’t just build a machine—they encountered timeless principles of engineering, historical design, and aesthetic beauty.

We extend our sincere thanks to Mr. Cirillo for his outstanding leadership and mentorship, and we offer heartfelt congratulations to our students for a job exceptionally well done. You embodied the spirit of joyful learning and discovery that defines our mission at St. Ann Classical Academy.
