As part of our ElevatEd guest lecture series, our 3rd–8th grade students were treated to a remarkable presentation by Mr. Madden, who brought to life the story behind the stained glass windows in our very own parish church—the Catholic Church of St. Ann, right here on our campus.
From commissioning to installation, students learned about the intricate artistry required to craft these sacred windows, the generosity of those who donated them, and the stories of the saints and events from Christ’s life they depict. Mr. Madden also shared the rich Italian history of our parish and the legacy of faith and beauty it represents.
In the spirit of our Catholic classical vision, this experience revealed how art, history, and faith are woven together—inviting students to see beauty as a reflection of truth and goodness, and to contemplate how the Church’s artistic heritage lifts the mind and heart to God.
We are deeply grateful to Mr. Madden for sharing his time and talent with us—what a gift to see our own church through new eyes!
At the next session. some of our students will return to the church to sketch their favorite window and reflect on the sacred stories told through color and light. Stay tuned!
