Today our third graders concluded their study of Little House in the Big Woods and Farmer Boy by Laura Ingalls Wilder with a delightful celebration in anticipation of her birthday this Saturday, February 7.
After reading both novels and bringing literature to life through building a "Little House,” making butter, tasting maple sugar, and more, students arrived today dressed as their favorite characters from the stories. They enjoyed treats, games, and activities inspired by the daily life of children in the books. To conclude the celebration, students danced to fiddle music just as the children would have done to Pa’s fiddle playing.
It was truly a memorable day. Thank you, Miss Stefanchik, for bringing literature and history to life in such a joyful and meaningful way.
