In celebration of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi—patron saint of animals, whose feast day is October 4—we decided to honor his love for nature in a special way.
As a class, we made bird feeders to help care for the birds around us. We hung them behind the church so our feathered friends can enjoy a little treat. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect our science learning with faith and stewardship of God's creation.
