Studying American History

As part of their study of American History, our 5th grade students are exploring Paul Revere’s Ride through the lens of classical integration. Before committing the poem to memory, students first copy the verses using “quills,” stepping into the experience of colonial-era writing.

Through this hands-on approach, students strengthen penmanship, deepen concentration, and form a stronger connection to both the literature and the historical period. Moments like these reflect the beauty of a classical education, where subjects are thoughtfully woven together and learning engages both the intellect and the imagination.
