Twas the Night Before School at St. Ann Classical Academy
(Modeled after “A Visit from St. Nicholas” by Clement Clarke Moore)
'Twas the night before school, and all through Raritan’s borough,
Families were praying, both earnest and thorough.
Uniforms ready, and backpacks in place,
With hope in their hearts and God’s gentle grace.
The children were nestled, content in their beds,
As saints and young scholars danced bright in their heads.
New friendships awaited, adventures so near,
A mission of faith at the start of the year.
The church bells rang out with a joyful refrain,
“Christ is our center, His truth we proclaim!”
From parents to teachers, from classroom to hall,
St. Ann’s stood prepared to welcome them all.
With Scripture and Latin, with History bright,
With Art, Music, Science, and Math taught aright.
So noble, so lively, each subject would call,
To form every student—a disciple of all.
"Now wonder! Now virtue! Now courage! Now grace!
On kindness and wisdom in each time and place!
To chapel, to playground, to classroom and hall,
St. Ann Classical welcomes God’s children all!"
So the night before school, both peaceful and deep,
Parents prayed for their children as they drifted to sleep.
And we heard them exclaim, as dawn’s light broke through—
“Happy school year to all, may Christ guide us too!”
A heartfelt thank you to all who worked tirelessly behind the scenes this summer—our dedicated faculty, staff, volunteers, HSA Board, School Advisory Council, alumni, donors, and friends—for preparing St. Ann Classical Academy for a strong start!
It was a joy to welcome so many families at our Ice Pop Social last week. Your energy and smiles remind us why we do what we do.
We look forward to a happy, faith-filled, and blessed school year ahead with our students and families!
